The Crystal Veil
The Crystal Veil
This region of Impernia including theCrystal Veil Woods, Crystal Veil Lake, and the Pedestal of the Heavens, is shared by the eladrin, elves, and shifters of the Felis tribe. Numerous other races, primarily of the Feywild, call the Crystal Veil home but it is these three that interact most with the world beyond these primeval lands.
At the heart of the Crystal Veil towers a monolithic pillar of stone known as the Pedestal of the Heavens. This formation soars half a mile into the sky and holds Crystal Veil lake at it’s apex. The seven major rivers that flow through Impernia are born here before spilling over the edges of the Pedestal. The vast amount of water that cascades from the lake and the resulting mists that form at the base of the falls give the region it’s name, cloaking the base of the column in a silvery veil of water.
The woods that surround the base of the Pedestal spread for miles in any direction. These are the oldest and largest trees in all of Impernia, making them a tempting target for more industrialized nations. Deep within the woods, near enough the Pedestal to hear the roar of the falls, lies the only elven city of Sylvandras. Numerous smaller settlements dot the forest, providing homes to the denizens of the Feywild who call Impernia home.
High atop the pedestal lies Crystal Veil lake. The term lake is somewhat misleading, given the area the body of water covers rivals small inland seas. The waters of the lake are crystal clear and said to be pure elemental water. At the center of the lake jets an eternal geyser of water that has been confirmed by arcanists to be elemental in nature. During it’s time in this plane of existence, the eladrin city of Quelinas centers itself around the geyser, creating a natural fountain at the heart of the ring-city.
